Role: Field Service Technician (Mechanical & Electrical)

The position of a Field Service Technician contributes to the success of EMEC Machine Tools Inc by keeping our customers’ CNC machine tools running at peak levels. This position is responsible for performing technical support (onsite and via phone support), troubleshooting, problem solving, preventive maintenance, service and repair of Electrical/Mechanical Systems on a variety of CNC Machinery (Multitasking, Lathe, Machining Center, Grinders, Bridge Mills etc).

We are looking for 1-2 individuals for a Full Time role to start immediately.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct high quality, efficient and timely repair and installation of CNC Machines
  2. Training and instructing customer on service, repair and proper installation of equipment
  3. Utilizing software and electrical tools to find damaged work part and identifying solutions to repair computer controlled machines and accessories
  4. Ability to complete necessary tasks in our service software on a daily basis
  5. Perform troubleshooting, problem solving and repair of Electrical Systems / Mechanical on all CNC product lines.
  6. Consults with other team members, internal departments and/or external vendors to resolve issues related to installation and service/repair.
  7. Conduct Preventive Maintenance Inspections and Reports for customers existing machines.
  8. Accurately documents, completes and reports required information for service reports using company internal software
  9. Based on business needs, assist, support and/or perform other job function within department or other work areas within scope and ability
  10. Responsible for maintaining current technical, interpersonal, and communication skills through continuous development.  Progressive development of skills should be cultivated through further education, seminars, company training and other external resources such as reading material

 

Qualifications & Working Conditions

  1. Formal education or training in troubleshooting, repair and installation of CNC machines preferred
  2. Minimum 3 Years demonstrated mechanical and electrical experience preferred
  3. Experience repairing and servicing CNC machines
  4. Ability to work independently, and within a team
  5. Motivated individual that is Customer Service Focused
  6. Good Driving Record and valid Drivers License
  7. This role will require travel across Ontario on a daily basis. With some travel to Manitoba and Quebec as required.
  8. Ability to communicate with others via speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English
  9. Must be able to obtain a Passport and maintain valid status for international travel for training
  10. Willing to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends as required by customer.
  11. Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel and word for documentation and record keeping.
  12. Physical demands; bending, standing, lifting, pushing and pulling
  13. Demonstrated self-starter and effective planning and organization skills.
  14. Ability to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, peers, builder representatives and suppliers.
  15. Strong Mechanical Aptitude Required

The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and building relationships with our existing CNC machine tool customer base as well as developing new business opportunities in our Ontario office.

Experience in sales of machine tools, particularly to the automotive, aerospace, mold and die and industrial markets is highly desirable. The individual will bring to the position high credibility through proven track record of performance, and who brings inside knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm to their new job.

The individual is accountable for account development, and developing and maintaining strong customer relations with their territory. The individual’s collaborative nature will help you succeed when coordinating with internal departments, our builders and suppliers.
