Overview
The Okuma LT3000 EX is our highly flexible and profitable twin-spindle turning center in the 8-inch chuck class. With the ability to combine the upper and lower turrets with either spindle, this machine enables process flexibility, very high feature utilization, and the ability to complete the greatest amount of primary and secondary machining possible in one compact platform. The machine can be specified in a large number of different configurations to maximize the benefits for specific circumstances. It is available in either 2 or 3-turret versions—with or without Y axis—to provide best process balance and production throughput and integrated operations. This multi-function horizontal twin-spindle machine integrates lathe and mill/drill functions on all turrets. Thirty-two tool stations are available for either mill or lathe function for the twin-turret machine, while there are 48 for the 3-turret machine.
The LT3000 EX uses oOkuma’s open-architecture, PC-based OSP-P300 control. With attention to how machinists actually operate machine tools, this control was created with “Easy Operation,” where commonly used processes are conveniently grouped together. This creates an efficient platform for both novice and experienced machinists to efficiently complete their tasks.
