(Charlotte, North Carolina) Okuma America Corporation of Charlotte, North Carolina announces the introduction of the MULTUS B750, the largest in the family of MULTUS horizontal lathes. The B750 is a large multitasking machine with a maximum turning diameter in excess of 1 meter ( 41.34 inches, 1050 mm) that raises productivity for large parts. It was prominently displayed at Okuma Corporation's booth at EMO 2009 in Milan, Italy.
The B750 uses Okuma's original Thermo-Friendly Concept technology to compensate for thermal deformation and to minimize its effects. It is a Collision-Free Machine featuring Okuma's Collision Avoidance System to achieve both ease of use and high accuracy.
The diagonal rib construction bed and high accuracy, high rigidity spindle ensure the machine rigidity that is essential for machining large parts for aerospace, heavy equipment and other industries requiring large part turning. The B750 boasts turning capacity equal to that of the LB45II large NC lathe, and milling capacity comparable to that of the MA-H series horizontal machining centers.
The MULTUS B750 features the operator-friendly THINC-OSP control - a true PC, Windows-based platform with open architecture, plug and work USB capability. The adaptable control easily connects to peripheral equipment and accessories, expanding the functionality and performance of the machine by making it easy to design custom machining applications.
